SILICONE COATING
Ponding Water After Tampa Storms
Standing water is why we use 100% silicone here, not acrylic. A coating that cannot sit in a puddle will fail at the puddle.

Silicone coating note
Ponding water after Tampa storms
What ponding does to a coating
Tampa Bay dumps water fast. On a low-slope or flat roof that does not drain, that water sits (this is called ponding), and a coating that cannot handle standing water fails first at the puddle.
Why acrylic fails here
Acrylic coatings are common and cheaper on the bid. They also break down under ponding water. After enough Florida storms you get cracks, peeling, and leaks in the same low spots you were trying to seal.
Why we use 100% silicone
Silicone stays stable in standing water. That is the reason we are a PM Certified installer for it, and the reason we do not sell an acrylic system on a roof that ponds. The silicone roof coating page covers the system; this note is only about the water.
Ponding is a symptom
Coating a pond without checking drains, slope, and the deck underneath is a waste. If the structure is sound, we coat. If the deck is soft or the roof is past an honest remaining life, we will tell you a tear-off is the better spend. See coating vs replacement.
